Overview
Position: Associate Professor, Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, India Over the years, I have been working on research areas related to the economics of climate change, loss and damage, environmental economics, behavioural economics, natural resource management, and development economics. I have published several research papers in high-impact factor journals like Environmental Development, Nature Climate Change, Climate Risk Management, Scientific Reports, Land Use Policy, International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, etc. I have been guiding PhD students, Master of Public Policy Students, and IAS Officer Trainees. I have been involved in both teaching and research. Over the years, I have taught courses like Introduction to Program Evaluation, Environmental and Resource Economics, Behavioural Economics, Introduction to Energy and Environmental Policy, etc. As of now, I have published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers (including journal papers, book chapters, and working papers), and most of the papers appeared in high-impact factor journals. These studies received financial support from various national and international agencies such as the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE), Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Asia Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN-GCR), Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), Department of Science and Technology (DST), etc. I`ve been now contributing to two Indo-Dutch research projects on water-related disasters supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Government of India, and the Dutch Research Council (NWO). Recently, I received a research grant from ICSSR on `Circular Economy and Waste Management in Urban India.` I am also involved in the DST Center for Policy Research on Energy Transition and Tribal Education, NISER, India. I served as an EC member on INSEE from 2022-24 and was again nominated as Joint Secretary for 2024-26. I have been nominated as a Research Fellow by the Earth System Governance Network at Utrecht University, Netherlands.
