I am an expert in Earth observation, specializing in remote sensing, GIS, and data analytics for climate resilience and disaster risk management. With over a decade of experience, I have led impactful research projects on environmental monitoring, drought early warning systems, and sustainable agriculture. My technical expertise spans satellite data, UAV systems, and big data analytics. I am a lecturer of Geodata Science and Analytics where I mentor young researchers, I have guided teams in applying geospatial technologies to real-world challenges, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. My work significantly contributes to climate resilience, food security, and environmental sustainability across sub-Saharan Africa.

Overall conceptualization, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities. Key responsibilities include facilitating annual operational planning and ensuring coordination with county teams, stakeholders, and other SCIDA III components. The role requires steering contractors, grantees, and local subsidy recipients, while also supporting accurate and timely M&E and reporting. Collaboration with actors in Karamoja/Uganda and borderland areas under the EU co-funded “Peaceful and Resilient Borderlands” initiative, ensuring effective integration of funded activities. Providing technical leadership to GIZ personnel and managing finances in compliance with GIZ rules, in coordination with the Nairobi office, are also critical tasks. Providing professional advice to county institutions for the development of drought-resilient agricultural and food systems, including livestock, rain-fed, and irrigated crops. Establishing strong networks with relevant institutions, government departments, civil society, private sector actors, and development partners is essential. Supporting cross-border processes and ensuring German Development Cooperation’s active participation in relevant county-level meetings and coordination efforts.
