Description: Somalia is a country that already affected the disproportional impacts of climate change. This project focuses on understanding how climate change is exacerbating the disruption of quality of life. Due to devastated impact of climate change, people in these districts loss their homes, also there is lack of clean water and there is maternal mortality and malnutrition in these districts as well as there is lack of access to skills and education. These four districts are located in the northeastern of Somalia. The project explores how climate-induced loss and damage have affected these communities living in the four districts, delving into the disruption of livelihoods. In Bosaso, the impact of intense heat will be discovering. In Qardho, the research examines how flash floods have destroyed infrastructure and homes. Garowe is the center for understanding how prolonged droughts have disrupted the access of clean water, access for food and quality health. Galkayo is focal point for understanding how El-Nini floods destroyed the quality of life of the district. Through these case studies, the research aims to highlight the cascading effects of climate change on Somalia's vulnerable ecosystems and communities. It also underscores the need for robust adaptation and mitigation strategies to address these vulnerabilities. Furthermore, the findings will inform policymakers and international organizations on how to prioritize climate resilience efforts and better support communities facing loss and damage from climate-induced events in Somalia.
