Overview
I hold a Master's degree in Environmental Policy and a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering; I am deeply passionate about delving into critical environmental and political matters within the MENA region, addressing the water-food nexus, with a particular emphasis on Libya and the broader North African context. I have cultivated extensive experience as a dedicated consultant. Currently based in France, I am a versatile freelance consultant, leveraging my expertise to provide research and analysis services focusing on environmental policy and risk assessment and addressing disinformation analysis tackling climate change dis/mis information.
"For MENA region, developing up to date is crucial to shed light on many of the challenges especially environmental ones, however, it is important to connect research with implementation in order to bridge the already existing gap. "

Description: The Loss and Damage impacts being experienced in this research are linked to the intensity of cyclones, which led to the loss of biodiversity and ecosystem of the rich area surrounding the city of Darna as it faced the severe impact of storm Daniel. The cyclone's intensity resulted in the uprooting of trees, destruction of homes, and flooding of the city's streets. The storm's severe impacts caused significant environmental damage, including the loss of flora and fauna, which directly impacted the entire ecosystem.

Tunisia’s agricultural model, based on water-intensive hybrid seeds, is unsustainable. This model has eroded Tunisia’s food sovereignty and created damaging dependencies on global grain markets. Farmers are now turning to more traditional practices and are reusing those local seeds. This co-authored analysis article aimed to analyze the hybrid seeds' position in Tunisia and how Indigenous seeds are returning.

For the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, groundwater is a hidden but significant problem, as many countries extract more than is being recharged. Most lack solid legal frameworks and national water policy regulations to determine use. As a result, there are questions and concerns about the current status of groundwater aquifers, especially with the increasing impact of climate change, as well as the type of sustainable alternative solutions that could assist in conserving them.
